“Dunk the lunk, thick as a castle wall and slow as an aurochs” so said Ser Arlan of Pennytree.

Marvel: The Hedge Knight
Ser Duncan the Tall is a historical character whose mentions are peppered through the Song of Ice and Fire series and tall he is, measuring just under seven feet.
We first hear of Ser Duncan in “A Storm of Swords” when Jamie Lannister was wondering how he could be in such “exalted company.” He also forms part of Ser Barristan of House Selmy’s story too, as he was one of the knights that he defeats at a tourney to makes his name.
In “A Feast for Crows” from we hear from Maester Aemon at Castle Black reminiscing about how he first came to the Night’s Watch:
“He sent me north aboard the Golden Dragon, and insisted that his friend Ser Duncan see me safe to Eastwatch.”
The quote about the lunk however comes from “The Hedge Knight”, the first of three Novellas about the adventures of Ser Duncan and Egg his squire.
If graphic novels are more your style, then Marvel have produced the first two under the series name “The Hedge Knight.”
It won’t be last time we hear of Ser Giant, George R. R. Martin. has further Novellas with him in mind and we think there will be move hints dropped about the potential ancestor running around in the current series. Who knows what will come with “The Winds of Winter.”
